Workshops are offered at no cost by the Early Literacy Specialist. Each workshop is 2 hours and involves interactive activities and a focus on children's books and resources.


Spark the Imagination: Great Books, Songs, and Rhymes for the First Three Years

Looking for new books and activities to use in the first three years? Meet some new book characters and be re-introduced to some of the classics. Learn fun songs and rhymes to support children's literacy development in your programming. This workshop includes a make-and-take component.

Perfect Time for a Nursery Rhyme

Old-fashioned and boring? No Way! Nursery rhymes are a fun way for children to learn about language and literacy. We'll cover some of the classics as well as some new rhymes. Stretch the rhymes to discover some different ways to support children's litereacy skill development in your programming. This workshop includes a make-and-take component.

Smarter Brains - Smarter Kids

The early years are critical years for brain wiring, brain shaping, and intelligence building. Learn about the brain and discover practical strategies and new activities to enhance early literacy development in your programming. This workshop includes a make-and-take component.
